It is an honor to be able to bring together some of the brightest minds in foot and ankle surgery to share their passion and knowledge about the important role the first ray plays in the foot. Inherent to understanding foot pathology is a thorough understanding of normal and abnormal biomechanics of the foot. In pursuit of the reasons the foot fails and becomes pathologic, these surgeons believe that part of the answer lies in understanding the etiology.
