Searches for Higgs bosons at LEP2

After five years of running at centre-of-mass energies close to the Z(0) resonance, the energy of the e(+)e(-) collider LEP has been raised in successive steps to 172 GeV. This increase in energy opens a new kinematic domain for particle searches. This report describes current searches for Higgs bosons performed by the four LEP experiments, ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL, using the data collected at the upgraded energies and the prospects for the forthcoming years. The ALEPH observation of an excess of events in the four-jet final state is also discussed. [References: 26]
