Eastern prices driven higher by intl. markets

Eastern coals moved up in both the physical and financial over-the-counter markets on Monday. Sources attributed the increases to the international coal markets that moved up in response to strong perceived demand from the German power sector on Monday. NYMEX look-alike coal traded at least $1.75/st higher in the prompt quarter, but the price increases in successive quarters were smaller.
