GE sends Duke turbine that will run Edwardsport

Duke Energy Indiana is set to fire up the turbines that will power its 630-MW Edwardsport facility in 2012, now that both engines are at the site, GE Energy said on Monday. The second of two turbines arrived April 30, the first in early April, GE said in a statement. Gulf Coast states imported about 8.2 million st of coal in 2009, including 3.2 million st to JEA's St. John's River Power Park along the east coast of Florida, according to the Energy Information Administration. Most of the coal imported to the region originates at Colombian mines.
