Upward look-alike leaves PRB, CSX behind

Over-the-counter coal markets continued to diverge Wednesday with NYMEX look-alike prices pushing higher along the forward curve, while Powder River Basin coal held mostly flat and CSX rail-delivered coal prices fell. Look-alike products in the middle of the curve showed strong gains, as Q1 2011 traded at 64.20 dollars/st, 1.20 dollars/st higher than trades on Tuesday, while Q2 2011 traded at 66.35 dollars/st, 0.90 dollars/st ahead of Tuesday's trades.
