Electrician dies at Massey's Alma No. 1 mine

An electrician died Friday night at Massey Energy subsidiary Aracoma Coal's Alma Mine No. 1 in Logan County, West Virginia, becoming the second coal-mining fatality in West Virginia this year and the ninth for the nation in 2008. Production at the mine has been curtailed, but it is still occurring, a spokeswoman for the West Virginia Office of Miners' Health, Safety and Training told Platts late Monday afternoon.
