Private forecaster WSI Corp. late Tuesday bumped up its prediction for the Atlantic basin hurricane season to 15 named storms, nine hurricanes and four intense hurricanes of category 3 or stronger. Its last forecast, which was issued in June, called for 14 storms, eight hurricanes and four intense hurricanes. The Andover, Massachusetts, firm said it expects contin-ued higher-than-normal Atlantic Ocean temperatures, as well as favorable or neutral wind-shear conditions on the heels of the recent La Nina event.
