Coal companies support Wyo. law that adds muscle to drug testing policies

Wyoming coal producers have had drug testing policies for years, but a state law that will go into effect on July 1 is aiming to strengthen these policies by making it a minor crime to try to foil test results with clean urine or substances that can alter test results. Coal producers and freight railroads have been seeking to strengthen their existing drug policies to make their workplaces safer, but the legislation that was signed by Governor Dave Freudenthal on February 16 will assign monetary penalties or even jail time for those seeking to fake drug or alcohol screening test results. The law also targets those who sell adulterants and other substances to help workers pass drug tests.
