Flat Friday finishes off OTC coal trading week

Flat was back in vogue in Friday's over-the-counter coal futures market, and light was the tone, with no hints from brokers as to why. The US market was almost parallel to the European market, which had thin trading, but declined somewhat. In the NYMEX look-alike market, November 2008 traded at 116 dollars/short ton and 117 dollars/st, Q2 traded at 100 dollars/st and in spread trades, Q1 2009 over Q3 2009 traded three times at 6.75 dollars, while Q3 2009 over Q4 2009 traded at 2 dollars/st.
