In China, at the present time, 24% of the population is under the age of 14 years (about 0.26 billion). The bone and joint health care for this part of the population is of great significance and depends upon the professional training and practice. This review introduces the historical development and current status of pediatric orthopedic training and practice in China in terms of administrative, socioeconomic and cultural impacts.
