SCIOTA AQUIFER GAS-STORAGE FIELD RESERVOIR SIMULATION AND ANALYSIS

Since the early 1960's, aquifer gas-storage fields have been developed in many parts of the U.S. The Sciota storage field in the Mt. Simon sandstone in western Illinois was developed in the 1970s and operates with 12 storage and 5 observation wells. The original design was for 20 to 24 wells, so the present wells are not placed in an optimum well pattern. Two engineering studies performed in the 1970's focused on optimum field inventory and migration control but did not explore long-term field operation.
