NYMEX look-alike coal prices gained about 30 cents in light over-the-counter coal futures trading Monday, when quarterly trading was limited to the first and third quarters of 2008. Q1 look-alike traded at 48 dollars/st and twice at 47.90 dollars, Q3 2008 look-alike traded at 52.45 dollars/st and at 52.50 dollars/st, while the CY 2010 over CY 2009 look-alike strip traded once at 1.90 dollars and was heard to have traded at that level in another transaction.
