Ilizarov technique in management of nonunited fracture of both bones of the forearm

We read with interest the article by Emara [1] entitled "Ilizarov technique in management of nonunited fracture of both bones of the forearm". The author reported a remarkable limitation in pronation and supination ranges of movement in all eleven patients treated with this technique. This is largely attributed to the use of transfixing wires at the proximal and distal radio-ulnar joints. The disabling limitation in rotation movements was actually considered an unfavorable but virtually inescapable fate.
