摘要

The orbitozygomatic complex is a "cornerstone" bone that strongly contributes to midfacial width, antero-posterior malar eminence, and ocular projections, thus playing a role of paramount importance in both facial esthetic and ocular function. Orbito-2ygo-matic fractures are among the most commonly encountered fractures in craniofacial traumatology, and their treatment depends largely on the degree of bone stability and displacement. During the past 20 years, open reduction-rigid internal fixation by titanium miniplates has rapidly become the most popular surgical technique in the management of these fractures and has contributed strongly to the decline of secondary late midface deformities.
