Oral and maxillofacial surgeons treat injuries of the soft tissues of the face and scalp regions frequently. These injuries often result from blunt or penetrating trauma to the head and neck. One of the injuries not seen commonly is a pseudoaneurysm. In the head and neck region, pseudoaneurysms can arise in the superficial temporal artery (STA).This report describes a pediatric patient with a pseudoaneurysm of the anterior division of the STA secondary to trauma. A brief discussion of the etiology, diagnosis, and possible treatment options will also be presented.
