Large polytungstobismuthate aggregate linked by unusual silver-tungsten-bismuth cluster

A new multi-silver-substituted polyoxometalate Na_(19)[Bi_2Ag_3Na(W_3O_(10))(BiW_9O_(33))_3]___41(H_2O) (1) has been obtained by reaction of Na_9[BiW_9O_(33)].16H_2O, Na_2WO_4 2H_2O, and AgNO_3 in an acidic aqueous solution. The complex is characterized by IR, UV-Vis absorption spectra, thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, elemental analysis, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Polyanion 1 consists of three [BiW_9O_(33)]~(9-) units liked by [Bi_2Ag_3Na(W_3O_(10))]~(8+) silver/sodium-tungsten-bismuth mixed cluster. The novelty of polyanion 1 is that, for the first time, use silver cations bridges [BiW_9O_(33)]~(9-) subunits to form a new polyoxometalate cluster and providing new insights into the preparation of fascinating multi-functional materials.
