Upper gastrointestinal bleed in a woman with systemic sclerosis.

A 45-year old woman presented with six episodes of passing black tarry melenic stools over two days not associated with dizziness or postural fall. She was on treatment for systemic sclerosis for four years. She gave a history of intake of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for arthralgia in the last four days. There was no abdominal pain, vomiting, retching or hematemesis. She has never had similar episodes before. On examination she appeared anemic with stable vital parameters. An upper gastrointestinal endoscopy done is shown in Fig. 1.
