Kuraray expands into bio-based barrier film with Plantic acquisition

Tokyo-based speciality chemical and resin company Kuraray has announced it completed the acquisition of plantic, an australian manufacturer of bio-based barrier films. the purchase follows a september 2014 agreement between the two companies that made Kuraray the exclusive distributor of plantic’s biomass-based high-barrier films for food packaging in Japan and south Korea.
