Mazda announces bioplastics exterior for 2015 model

Mazda has become the latest company to implement bioplastics in its vehicles - announcing a product launch for 2015 that allows bioplastics to break into exterior vehicle applications. mazda has partnered with fellow Japanese firm mitsubishi Chemical, developer of Durabio plastic, to jointly develop a bio-based engineering plastic for exterior vehicle parts. the plastic will be used in mazda’s new mX-5 sports car, which is due to launch later in 2015. other production models are likely to use the bioplastic in future, according to mazda.
