摘要

I read the commentary by Herxheimer and Ziebland with interest and agree that safe, effective and comfortable medication use is a multidisciplinary responsibility and healthcare 'must'. Indeed, collaboration, sharing knowledge and communication among the three healthcare professions (i.e. physicians, pharmacists and nurses) most often involved in procuring, administering and monitoring medication are vital for patient safety. However, clinical leadership in this important area may help overcome the difficulties of blurring roles and focus attention and efforts upon the mitigation of harm to patients.
