摘要

This paper uses the correspondence between geometrical and wave optics to analyze paraxial and physical properties of the human eye regarded as a gradient-index (GRIN) device working as a cascade linear system formed by a GRIN cornea and GRIN lens in combination with the anterior chamber. Cardinal elements, refractive power and point spread function (PSF) of the GRIN human eye are evaluated and changes with age of these properties in comparison with the homogeneous human eye are presented.
