Standards applied to bioplastics by major standardisation organizations have remained relatively unchanged so far this decade. While most companies dealing in bioplastics recognise the standards developed by such groups as European Bioplastics and ASTM International as most acceptable industry guidelines, debate continues over language used by many firms to market their products.
