摘要

Chemicals firm BASF has continued to expand its position in the bioplastics industry, with extensions of biodegradable plastic ecovio. Another relevant area of development for BASF is its compostable waste bags. Recent and forthcoming trials for waste bags in China could not only drive the use of ecovio, but also provide a barometer of the opportunity in this region. Acceptance of composting processes and appreciation of sustainability would hint at huge growth potential for bioplastics firms venturing into China.
