摘要

Quantification of cardiac images is a post-processing of digital images from which critical clinical information can be derived. Nuclear cardiac images, such as single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET) images, are digital in nature and are highly quantifiable. Abnormalities of myocardial perfusion and left ventricular (LV) function can be assessed quantitatively from SPECT or PET images via sophisticated computer software. In comparison to conventional visual analysis, quantification of nuclear cardiac images provides higher accuracy and reproducibility for the assessment of myocardial perfusion and LV function.
