The packaging markets represent a substantial proportion of today’s bioplastics industry and will continue to do so in the coming years. Many of the applications for the near-term market have focused on adding value - whether through a perception of sustainability and making a product or brand appear ‘green’; or by providing enhanced properties or functions beyond conventional packaging materials.
