A pot culture experiment was conducted using a sodic soil to study the utilisation of applied Zn by rice cv. CO 43 as influenced by amendments (composted coir pith, dhaincha [Sesbania sp.], gypsum or dhaincha + gypsum) and application rates of Zn (0-50 kg/ha). Incorporation of gypsum + dhaincha resulted in the highest utilization of applied Zn. Among the Zn rates tested, utilization of applied Zn was highest in treatments receiving 37.5 kg ZnSO4/ha.
