摘要

Anatolia, which has hosted numerous cultures throughout history, has also witnessed the birth of several sciences, one of the most important of which was medicine. And Anatolian medicine, which dates back to 10,000 years ago, continued to flourish until the Ottoman era. Turkish Medicine until the 18th century advanced together with Arabic-Islamic medicine, which did not differ from Western medicine until the 16th century (1,2).The earliest known Turkish book about urology is Cerra-hiye-i llhaniye (llhanian Surgery), which was written by Sabuncuoglu Serafeddin from Amasya (1385-1468). This is not an adaptation from Ebulkasim Zehravi, as claimed by some (3-5). For example, Prof. Dr. Adnan Adivar in his work Osmanli Turklerinde Him (Science Among the Ottomans) states that it was a direct translation from Zehravi (6).
