Mycoflora Associated with Pongamia pinnata (L.) Pierre

Mycoflora associated with fruits, seeds and leaves of Pongamia pinnata was studied. In all, 12 fungal species were recorded. Among these, 10 species were associated with fruits and seeds while five species were associated with leaves. Of the 12 species, seven were detected before culturing, whereas species of Aspergillus, Penicillium, Cladosporium and Rhizopus were observed only upon culturing on PDA and MRBA media. Cladosporium cladosporoides was the most dominant species. Cercospora pongamie and Fusicladium pongamie were found associated only with the leaf material.
