Efficacy of Cymoxanil + Mancozeb in Controlling Late Blight of Potato in Subtropical Plains

An experiment was conducted during 2003-2004 and 2004 - 2005 on the effectiveness of mancozeb 75% WP, cymoxanil 8% + mancozeb 64% and metalaxyl 8% + mancozeb 64% at three doses against late blight under field conditions in two local cvs. Kufri Bahar (susceptible) and Kufri Sutlej (moderately resistant). Treatment with metalaxyl + mancozeb and cymoxanil + mancozeb both at 2.5 kg/ha were highly effective to manage late blight in Kufri Bahar. In moderately resistant cv. Kufri Sutlej, treatment with metalaxyl + mancozeb (2.5 kg/ha) was at par with the other two doses of the same fungicide and cymoxanil + mancozeb sprayed at 2.5 kg/ha.
