Welcome and Happy New Year

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a blessed and healthy 2013. This past year has been an exciting one for the Journal of Music Therapy. One of our biggest accomplishments in 2012 was transition to an on-line manuscript submission and peer review process. Submission guidelines and instructions for( accessing the online submission system are posted on the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) website. Please join me in thanking AMTA Executive Director, Dr. Andrea Farbman, Barbara Else, and Angie Elkins for facilitating this important transition. I would also like to extend my thanks to our outgoing Editorial Board Members-Drs. Michele Forinash, Bill Davis, Jennifer Jones, Melissa Brotons, Andrea Cevasco, and Wendy Magee. Their time and contributions to the journal and the profession of music therapy are greatly appreciated. In 2013, the journal will feature two invited methodological papers-one on mixed methods research authored by Drs. John Creswell, Joke Bradt, and Debra Burns; a second on pilot studies authored by Dr. Blythe LaGasse. In addition, we will have two guest editorials addressing timely issues in music therapy research.
