Combined incidence of two viruses-banana streak virus (BSV) and Banana Bunchy Top virus (BBTV) in banana cv Lal velachi, belonging to AAB genotype.

A survey of banana viruses was conducted in coastal areas of western Maharashtra, India, in 2011. Three plants of banana of the AAB genotype showed leaves with narrow, discontinuous, chlorotic or yellow streaks extending from the midrib to the margin. These plants were characterized by a reduction in leaf size, rosette formation, and pseudostem length. Banana streak virus and Banana bunchy top virus were isolated from diseased plants.
