Primary Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma: Cause of Pelvic Pain and Mass in a Posthysterectomy Patient

A 58-year-old woman who previously had a total laparo-scopic hysterectomy with a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy for a uterine myoma 3 years earlier presented with pelvic pain lasting 3 months. She had a well-defined hypoechoic left lateral pelvic mass measuring 5.7 X 4.01 cm with homogenous internal echoes, and a provisional diagnosis of retro-peritoneal tumor or residual parasitic myoma was made (Fig. 1).
