Renal ultrasonography later confirmed the duplicated ureteric system, normal positioning, and lack of hydronephrosis. The patient was informed of the renal anomaly and was asked to inform any future surgeons planning pelvic or abdominal surgery. Duplication of the renal collecting system is the most common congenital anomaly of the urinary tract, occurring in 0.8% to 5% of the population.
