The World Mining Congress--where do we go from here?

The 50th Anniversary of the World Mining Congress in September 2008 at Krakow, marks a distinctive watershed in the evolution of this organization. The 21st World Mining Congress and Expo 2008 with the motto "New challenges and vision for mining" marks this divide. In the evolutionary growth of any organization, as it matures, the organization must pause to introspect on what it has achieved to rededicate oneself to a new goal. The organization may even need to pull itself up by the bootstrap to scurry towards a new direction of growth.
