摘要

A constant increase in the demand for coal has been observed since 2004. Long-term forecasts predict that this trend will persist and, as a result, by 2030, the global demand for coal will have increased in by 60 percent in relation to 2000. Manufacturers, aiming at greater output, will expect an increase in mining productivity to be accompanied by a reduction in production costs. This objective will become attainable when all the machines and equipment operating within the production line are fully integrated and offer maximum availability. Moreover, in the global coal mining industry, a strong tendency can be observed towards a real increase in risk, resulting from mining coal seams which are more and more difficult to access. Associated risks such as methane and coal dust explosion, bump, water and endogenous fire hazards, as well as the high temperatures related to large depths will also intensify. These processes will be accompanied by stricter law regulating miners' working time and job specifications.
