The Indian Institute of Metals, Delhi Chapter in association with the Non-Ferrous Division of the Indian Institute of Metals organized a national seminar on 'Non-ferrous metals - strategies for competitiveness and globalization between 22-23 September, 2005 at New Delhi. The seminar was supported by Vedanta, MMTC, NALCO, Aluminium Association of India, ILZDA, ICDC, Nickel Institute, SMS Demag, Binani Zinc, MMR, Metal World & Engineering Council of India. Mr. A.K.D. Jadhav, Mines Secretary, Government of India inaugurated the event attended by 189 participants from India and abroad. In all seventeen technical presentations on various facets of base metals were made at the seminar. The seminar publication contains a mine of information on various aspects of the base metals and it will be very useful to non-ferrous metal producers, downstream industry, metal traders, plant and equipment suppliers, R&D as well as educational institutions, IIM members, etc. The publication is priced and will be available from the Indian Institute of Metals, Delhi chapter, Jawahar Dhatu Bhawan, 39 Tughalakabad Institutional Area, M.B.
