摘要

A new species of sawfly, Clarissa tasbates, is described from high subalpine (860 m), grassy eucalypt woodland in western Tasmania. Females have abbreviated wings with reduced venation, are nocturnal or crepuscular, and occur on the ground or on grass tussocks. Males are macropterous and both nocturnal and diurnal. Presumed larvae are ground dwelling and feed on Ranunculus. [References: 22]
