Groundwater management in Neyveli basin

Water is an integral and inseparable part of all living beings on earth. It is unfortunate that the water, nature's gift which is so important to all of us, is no longer available adequately and equitably to all human beings. The demand for water is increasing day by day not only for household and agriculture but for industrial purposes as well. Hence there is an urgent need to augment our water resources which are depleting at an alarming rate. NLC has always accorded prime concern and priority on environmental issues and ecological balances. Conservation of the natural resources and in particular water has been one of the areas of prime concern in NLC in addition to production and productivity. There has been a constant, continuous and specific attention given in the areas of conservation of water.
