摘要

The intrinsic diffusion coefficients in a liquid GaGe alloy were determined using a novel method based on Fick's first law. The mutual and self diffusion coefficients also were derived. The intrinsic diffusion coefficients of both components are similar to each other and so both components equally contribute to the mutual diffusion coefficient. Also, the values of the self diffusion coefficient agree with values reported in the literature. A comparative study of the gallium self diffusion coefficients between the GaGe and GaZn systems indicated that the self diffusion coefficient depends on the second alloy component.
