摘要

A three-dimensional numerical simulation of the performance of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) has been developed combining computational fluid dynamics (STAR-CD version 3.26, ADAPCO) with an expert module (es-pemfc version 2.2, ADAPCO) which comprises a computational fluid dynamic solver, specific mass transfer process and electrochemical performance in PEMFCs. The geometric, design, meshing and numerical simulation processes of the PEMFC in steady operating conditions will be described. In accordance with the results obtained, the most relevant aspects affecting the PEMFC design will be discussed in order to optimize the performance of the cell.
