SOME IMPORTANT PTERIDOPHYTES FROM EASTERN GHATS OF NORTHERN ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA

摘要

The Eastern Ghats located between 76° 50' and 86° 30' E longitude 11° 30' and 22° N latitudes spread in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Tamihiadu. The Eastern Ghats of Northern Andhra Pradesh cover the districts Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam,East Godavari and West Godavari disfricts. The hilly tracts of this region are ragged with hills and valleys. This area harbours tropical deciduous type of forests. Tribes like Jatapu, Savara, Gadaba, Konda Reddi, Konda Dora, Valmiki and Ghonds are residing in this region. These tribes use the many Pteridophytes in their daily life as medicine, vegetables and other purposes are given in this paper. During our ethnobotanical work we have collected the information from various tribal people of Estern Ghats of Northern Andhra Pradesh. In this paper about 32 species of pteridophytes and their uses are given.
