摘要

The room-temperature corrosion behavior of iron-base MA956 and nickel-base MA754 superalloys was investigated in H{sub}2SO{sub}4 (0.1 to 5 N) and 0.6 N NaCl solutions using the potentiodynamic polarization technique. The study also includes x-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of the as-received and corroded surfaces. Both the alloys show good corrosion resistance to H{sub}2SO{sub}4. In the 0.6 N NaCl solution, the nickel-base superalloy MA754 was found to be more corrosion resistant as compared to the iron-base superalloy MA956.
