AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – Re-searchers have designed a real-time imag-ing system that could advance physical re-habilitation for soldiers, athletes andothers who need to retrain their muscles. The passive optical motion capture sys-tem, using reflective markers positioned atkey points on the body, collects data onmuscle movements, while HBM (humanbody model) software integrates it into anexisting skeleton prototype and analyzesthe forces that the muscles generate. Theresult is a real-time virtual body doubleshowing the musculoskeletal system inmotion.
