The Second EAO Consensus Conference 19-22 February 2009, Pfaffikon, Switzerland. Preface.

After the great success of the First Consensus Conference in 2006 (Ham-merle & van Steenbeeghe 2,006), the EAO board decided to organize a second conference in 2009. Marc Quirynen and Chris-toph Hammerle were given the task to assemble a scientific committee, to develop the program and to organize the conference. The board supervised these activities throughout the entire preparation and execution process of the conference. For the selection of topics and participants the following members pined the scientific committee: John Hobkirk, Franck Re-nouard, Daniel Buser, Thomas Flemmig, Mariano Sanz, Georg Watzek, Friedrich Neokam, Marc Quirynen, and Christoph Hammerle. A total of 55 persons from 17 countries participated in this international consensus conference.
