Thermochemical properties of some electrolytes aqueous solutions in binary and ternary systems at 298.15K

The crystallisation enthalpies of NaCl, KCl, LiCl. H2O, MgCl2. 6H(2)O, CaCl2. 6H(2)O and BaCl2. 2H(2)O from aqueous solution were determined by means of different methods. It was concluded that the method of differential enthalpies of solution measurements gives the best results. Therefore, for the equilibrium solid phases occurring in the systems K2SO4 - (NH4)(2)SO4 - H2O, KCl - KBr - H2O and KNO3 - NH4NO3 - H2O, the concentration dependencies of those enthalpies, within solubility isotherms were measured. It allowed for calculation of the limiting differential solution enthalpies and also the crystallisation enthalpies of the mixed crystals. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
