Thermophysical properties including densities, speeds of sound and viscosities for ternary solutions containing (sucrose + ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylitnidazolium bromide [BMIm]Br + water) have been measured at temperatures T = (288.15 to 318.15) K and atmospheric pressure. These measured experimental data have been used to calculate parameters such as standard partial molar volume (V-Phi(0)), transfer volume of sucrose from water to aqueous ionic liquid solutions (Delta V-tr(Phi)0), partial molar isentropic compressibility, (k(Phi)(0)), hydration number (n(H)) and viscosity B-coefficient (B). These parameters have been discussed in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions present in the given system. Positive transfer volume Delta V-tr(Phi)0 interpreted by the cosphere overlap model indicated dominance of hydrophilic-ionic interactions among the components of the system. By increasing in the ionic liquid concentration, interaction volume (V-int) calculated by scaled particle theory (SPT) became less negative. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
