In 2007 global production of chemical fibers increased by 8.0%, up to 44.1 mln t. Specifically, the output of cellulose fibers expanded by 9.0%, up to 3.7 mln t, that of synthetic fibers - by 7.9%, up to 40.4 mln t. More favorable tendencies of cellulose fibers market were mainly connected with the output of viscose staple fiber.
