Litigation may be one of the most stressful experiences of a physician's life, compounded by uncertainty and fear of the unknown. Knowing more about what to expect and how best to help the process will make the experience less traumatic and more successful. Initial action steps to be taken and steps in the litigation process from initiation of the suit through resolution are discussed.
