摘要

Widely recognized for his innovative farming practices with environmentally favorable methods such as no-till, Steve Groff is refining another technique--grafted tomatoes. "I feel grafting has a viable place in commercial production, especially wheretomatoes are grown continuously or soil disease pressure is high," Groff says. Last season Groff realized 9.4 additional tons per acre of marketable fruit at his southern Lancaster County, Pa. farm. This 20 percent increase led him to step up his grafted tomato production and to experiment further this season.
