摘要

A federal judge in Arkansas this week gave Southwestern Electric Power and several environmental groups more time to file rebuttal testimony in a case involving the utility's 600-MW John W. Turk Jr. ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant under construction in Hempstead County. The Sierra Club, National Audubon Society and a local conservation group are asking Judge William Wilson Jr. of the US District Court for the Western District of Arkansas to halt construction on Turk, claiming a Section 404 Clean Water Act permit issued by the Army Corps of Engineers was improper and should be rescinded.
